With all the AI hype that’s going on now, with AI video, AI images, AI chat, eventually we’ll need to use AI for some real work. And what better place, than at the start of the business journey. Turns out, hundreds of sites have already popped up and flooded the market with more options than the stock market.
Most are just random, traffic hungry sites. There’s even a few big players in the midst which was surprising to me at first, but made total sense from an overall marketing perspective.
In order to pick the top 5 free AI logo generators, we have to have some criteria to judge and analyse which ones are worth your time.
First things first, it’s gotta be free.
Secondly was the name, obviously “Ample Tech” comes to mind :) thirdly was the slogan, which, we don’t exactly have at the moment, but in this instance, we’ll use, “Just build it”. An optional item was having an icon created. This isn’t a necessity, but a nice to have.
With these things set, we’re off to the races –
1. Brandmark.io
The final output that I liked the best was pretty good. The A is pretty similar to what we have now, and the font chosen has that ‘techy’ look and feel to it, with a nice yellow highlight to bring a bit of pop to it.
2. Adobe Express
Adobe, the well known creative software juggernaut has thrown its hat in the ring with their Adobe Express offering which has an AI logo builder in it. Given the big brand name of Adobe and all the innovated AI generative fill videos I’ve seen, I was expecting this to be amazing… Instead I was shocked by how terrible the logo output was. I can’t even describe how basic and amateur it looks, and this is coming from Adobe themselves!

3. Turbologo
Although Turbologo’s homepage says free, it is absolutely not true. I went through their wizard, generated a nice looking logo, however, it’s watermarked and I can’t remove it unless I pay them $19.99 USD for a low resolution version. If I wanted a decent high quality version that I could actually use, it would be at least $39.99 USD.
The logo is pretty decent, and by far, not the worst interpretation of the Ample Tech logo I’ve seen in this list, but the deceptive homepage wording makes this unacceptable in my books.
4. Canva’s AI Logo generator
By now, I don’t think Canva needs an introduction, and it’s no surprise they show up in position 1 for “ai logo generator“. Since they ranked number 1, I had some high expectations, and it’s Canva, so they have a reputation to live up to.
Here’s the prompt I used –
logo for a web design agency called “Ample Tech” and has the tagline, “Just build it”. Primary colours should be blue, grey, black, and different shades of blue/purple are supporting colours. Must have an icon which is tech related.
5. Looka
I was very eager to try this site as it has almost 12,000 reviews according to Google! However, the outputs are quite poor.
After going through their wizard, adding an icon, and filling out my preferred colours, it was kind of a pathetic off the shelf combination of the world icon and some molecule connectors which is really an odd choice.
As with any AI generated image, it’s never going to be super perfect, nor will it accurately capture that essence that only a human being can generate. Whilst the AI may understand the words typed in, it may not be able to connect the dots quite as beautifully as a person who knows the local market or understands the subtleties in the local language, but AI logo generators are a good start.
If you’re done mucking around with these free AI logo generators and want a real custom logo designed by humans, say hello to myself and the team and let’s craft your brand, together!
